Transfer/Reassignment
Voluntary Transfers
1. Requests for transfer
shall be submitted in writing to the Director, with copies to the
Superintendent and to the Director to which transfer is requested.
2. Requests shall be
considered and evaluated according to educational background and/or
credentials, experience, personal qualification, and potential contribution in
another unit of the District.
3. The applicant shall
receive written acknowledgment of receipt of request from Human Resources.
4. When an opening exists,
the Director will review requests for transfer and interview those who
best meet the qualification of the position.
a.
Interviews are not to be arranged until an official request has been processed
through Human Resources.
b. Applicants shall be
notified by Human Resources of the final selection.
c. Applicants denied a
transfer may request a meeting with the appropriate administrator(s) to discuss
the issue.
Involuntary Transfers
1. Involuntary transfers
shall be initiated by the Superintendent or designee as deemed necessary by the
Superintendent.
2. Teachers shall not be
assigned or transferred outside the scope of their credential subject areas.
3. Involuntary transfers
shall be made without regard to age, race, creed, religion, sex, national
origin, disability, or sexual orientation.
Transfer Appeal
1. If a teacher objects to a
transfer, he/she may request a meeting with the appropriate District
Administrator.
a.
The teacher may invite a representative of his/her professional organization
and/or any other person of his/her choosing to be present at such meeting.
b.
The final decision rests with the Superintendent.
