Integrated Academic and Vocational Instruction

 

Strategies for integrating academic and vocational instruction may include, but shall not be limited to:

 

1.         Incorporating more academic skills into vocational courses

 

2.         Using both academic and vocational teachers to enhance academic content in vocational courses

 

3.         Giving teachers opportunities to collaborate in aligning the content of their courses so as to demonstrate the relationship between       various disciplines

 

4.         Establishing sequences of courses related to various career paths

 

5.         Developing career clusters and career majors that include a planned program of job training and work experiences

 

6.         Establishing apprenticeships under the direction of a master craftsperson

 

7.         Establishing effective linkages between secondary and postsecondary education
