Goals and Objectives
The Governing Board
believes that all students need to meet high standards of academic and
career-technical knowledge and skills as applicable to the MetroED program they
are enrolled in. In addition, they must
have the ability to apply their skills to the workplace, where they will be
required to adapt to emerging technologies and changing societal needs. The Board therefore desires to provide CCOC
and MAEP curriculum that prepares students to meet academic and/or career
technical education goals:
1. Ability
to analyze, think creatively, solve problems, make
decisions and apply knowledge and skills to real-life situations
2. Strong
communication and interpersonal skills
3. Experience with a
variety of technologies as they apply to the career-technical area being
studied
4. A
flexible personal academic or career plan based on:
a. Awareness of possible career paths
b. Academic and/or career counseling
c. An understanding of all aspects of the
industry the student is preparing to enter
5. Specialized skills
that can lead to career entry positions or more advanced education
6. Respect
for a diversity of cultures and thoughts
7. Self
esteem
8. Awareness
of the responsibilities of citizens in a democracy and the importance of
community service
9. A
positive work ethic, and ability to work independently or in a team
10. Ability
to seek out, organize and learn new information
