Adult Education
The Governing Board recognizes
that education is a lifelong process and that it is important for individuals
to continuously develop new skills.
The Superintendent or
designee shall develop and oversee the district's adult education program. The
Board shall approve all courses to be offered in this program.
When resources are
available, the adult education program will include courses related to:
1. Citizenship and English as a Second Language
2. Short-Term Career technical Skills
3. Elementary and Secondary Basic Skills leading to a High
School Diploma or General Education
Development Certificate.
4. Parenting, Family, and Consumer Awareness
5. Older Adults and Adults with Disabilites
The adult education
program will also be designed to serve persons under
18 years of age who have dropped out of school or who desire to take additional
courses to supplement and enrich their high school program.
