This is our adult education program. This is the mission statement that follows. We are MAEP.

2. What classes does MAEP provide? Schedule of Classes

MAEP provides learning opportunities for adults in over 40 locations throughout San Jose and Campbell which serve a combined total of 45,000 adults around the clock in subjects including:

  • English as a Second Language
  • Citizenship Preparation (offered in English and 5 other languages)
  • Adult Basic Education-literacy skills in reading, writing, and math
  • GED preparation
  • High School Diploma program for adult students
  • Short-term career-technical certificate programs helping people gain skills to enter, or re-enter, the workforce
  • Educational Programs for older adults
  • Childbirth and Parenting Education

    The mission of the MAEP is to provide a caring environment that enables students to achieve their fullest potential while developing, in a diverse society, both a strong sense of community and a love of lifelong learning.

  • Sponsors: 300 day classes, 500 night classes in over 40 locations
  • Teachers are credentialed professionals
  • Well-developed, free or low-cost programs
  • Is the biggest provider of training for CalWORKs clients, and a leader in the welfare-to-work efforts in Santa Clara County
  • Is fully accredited by WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges)
