ComTek Center (CTC), a Metropolitan Education District partner, offers hands-on telecommunications training in a three week program. The training is Tuesday and Thursday nights along with Saturday mornings. Certifications for eligible candidates are available, including BICSI FOA Installer, Technician, and Project Management.

Immediate positions open for Certified Fiber Optic installers (Trainees)
CTB Fiber Optic Services, Inc. has immediate openings for its paid internship program. The paid internship program is for 90 days, following which the candidates may be offered full-time positions with CTB Fiber Optic Services, Inc.
The positions are for entry-level installers. No prior experience is necessary. On-the-job training will be provided by CTBFOSI.
Background check and drug test are required.
CTBFOSI requires the candidates to possess their FOA Certified Fiber Optic Technician Certification at ComTek Center as a prerequisite for applying.
During the internship program the stipend pay to trainees is $10.50 per hour, if selected. Working hours may vary. For those interns who are chosen to become full-time employees, payrate will be increased to $12.50 per hour during 120 day probationary period. At the end of the probationary period, based on candidate’s performance the payrate will be increased to $14.00 per hour. There will be another performance review 1 year after probationary period has ended, based on candidate’s performance, payrate will further be increased to $15.00 per hour.
