CCOC Offers Two New Evening Classes for Adults

Central County Occupational Center (CCOC) is offering two new classes this fall for adults: Introduction to Commercial Screen Printing and Fire Service/First Responder. Classes begin in late August and registration is now underway at CCOC, 760 Hillsdale Avenue, San Jose.

Students enrolled in the Introduction to Commercial Screen Printing course will learn to silk screen like the pros through hands-on training for beginners and start-up printing businesses. The nine-week course will be held on Monday and Wednesday nights from 6 to 9 p.m. beginning August 24. The class covers a variety of topics including four color process printing, inks and thinners, screen mesh, and pre-press.

The Fire Service/First Responder 18-week course will provide adults with the knowledge and skills necessary to know in an emergency. The class will be on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. beginning August 23. The course includes a five week introduction to the fire science and job pre-employment preparation. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive AAOS certification in emergency response and American Heart Association CPR for the professional rescuer.
