Class Schedule Now Available Only Online for CCOC & MAEP; Registration Begins Soon

Due to recent budget cuts, MetroED is going green and will no longer provide a printed Schedule of Classes for Central County Occupational Center (CCOC) and the Metropolitan Adult Education Program (MAEP). However, the complete fall schedule of classes is now available on MetroED's redesigned website at www.MetroED.net in an easy to navigate format. Registration begins in late July for MAEP classes and on August 3 for CCOC classes.

The move to an online schedule of classes saves MetroED more than $105,153 annually as well as the paper it would have taken to print more than 266,700 schedules. Recent budget cuts to the adult education program made it necessary to do away with the printed booklet of classes.

Registration for CCOC's day classes for adults begins on August 3 at 8 a.m. in room 803. Classes are open to high school juniors and seniors in our six participating districts and then to adults. CCOC's evening class registration for adults is on August 3 at 5 p.m. in room 812.

CCOC offers a wide variety of Career Technical Education (CTE) courses including Veterinary Assistant, Animation, Electrical Maintenance, Welding, Medical Assisting, Solar Applications & Installation, Law Enforcement, and more. Registration is first come, first served and classes fill quickly. High school students should contact their home high school counselors to enroll.

Registration for MAEP's CTE classes such as Accounting and Medical Assisting begins July 28 at 10 a.m. Registration for English as a Second Language (ESL) and Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes is ongoing. Those wishing to enroll in the Adult High School Diploma program, the Independent Studies Program (ISP), or GED Testing Preparation courses need to call 408-723-6450 for an appointment.

MAEP classes are only available to those that live within the San Jose Unified School District attendance area. CCOC classes are available to those that live in our six participating districts: Campbell Union High School District; East Side Union High School District; Los Gatos-Saratoga Joint Union High School District; Milpitas Unified School District; San Jose Unified School District, and Santa Clara Unified School District.

For more information, visit www.MetroED.net. For specific information on CCOC, call 408-723-6400 or for MAEP call 408-723-6450. CCOC and MAEP are both located at 760 Hillsdale Avenue, San Jose.
