MAEP's Growing a Great Compost Pile World Garden Workshop
Learn how to nurture garden soil by using compost at the Growing a Great Compost Pile Metropolitan Adult Education Program’s (MAEP) World Garden Workshop on November 14, at the Erikson Adult Education Center located at 4849 Pearl Avenue, San Jose.
Master Gardener and Master Composter Ian Gerbode will cover the basic principles of composting: what goes in, what does not, where to locate the bin, what types of bins are available to purchase, or how to make your own compost bin. Also learn how to manage a compost pile once it is established and how to use the compost in your home garden. The free workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at MAEP’s Erikson Adult Education Center.
To register for the free workshop, call 723-6450 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and ask to have your name added to the November World Garden Workshop list, or email your name and phone number to ritab@metroed.net. Sign-up early, space is limited.
