Learn to Manage Pests at Upcoming World Garden Workshop

Learn about Integrated Pest Management for the Home Garden at Metropolitan Adult Education Program's (MAEP) World Garden Workshop on October 11, at the Erikson Adult Center located at 4849 Pearl Ave, San Jose.

Master Gardener Lee Ann Ray will teach gardeners of all skill levels how to manage garden pests. The workshop will cover pest prevention techniques, pest and plant symptom identification, and management methods. Ray will also discuss low impact solutions to gardening challenges and teach gardeners how to enhance your garden's health and natural environment with sustainable gardening practices.

The free workshop will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon, in the Erikson Adult Center auditorium. The World Garden is located on the southwestern edge of the Erikson Adult Center campus. Look for the redwood trees and the greenhouse roof after entering the fenced parking lot on Minas Drive, off Pearl Avenue.

To register for the free workshop, call 723-6450 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and ask to have your name added to the October World Garden Workshop list, or email your name and phone number to ritab@metroed.net. Sign-up early, space is limited.
