MAEP Assistant Principal Named ACSA Adult Ed Administrator of the Year
Metropolitan Adult Education Program (MAEP) Assistant Principal Carolyn Richardson was recently named Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) Region 8 Adult Education Administrator of the Year. Richardson will be honored by ACSA at their annual recognition dinner on May 19 at the Silver Creek Country Club in San Jose.
As stated in the nomination, Richardson’s two most important focus points in her career are student achievement and student progress. Richardson always considers how curriculum or content will impact students. She collaborates with staff, students, and district partners for eleven sites serving a diverse adult student population for MAEP, a unit of MetroED. She has developed presentation skills that honor the needs and experiences of adult learners.
Richardson worked with MetroED staff recently to write and facilitate a California Department of Education mini-grant, Building Professional Development Communities and contributed to MAEP’s successful six-year reaccreditation by WASC. Richardson has served as assistant principal of MAEP’s Campbell Adult Education Center since 2005.
MetroED is the largest career-oriented educational organization in
Santa Clara County, comprised of high school and adult occupational,
academic and community programs.
MetroED annually provides 30,000 diverse students with the skills
to help them be productive, income-earning and tax-paying contributors to
Silicon Valley.
