High School Equivalency GED/HiSET (HSE)

High school equivalency
(HSE) exams are for out-of-school youth and adults without a high school diploma
.

We offer free HSE test preparation classes and testing at our campus. Our classes prepare students for five tests required for the General Educational Development (GED) or California High School Equivalency (HSE) Certificate.

We offer High School Equivalency classes in English. Students must be able to speak, read, and write English.

How to Take the GED/HiSET® HSE Exam

  1. All students will take the CASAS Reading and Math test assessment.
  2. A counselor reviews the results with the student before registering for a class.
  3. Students follow an individualized course of study to review subject content and test-taking skills. They will also learn to use the scientific math calculator and complete practice exams
  4. HSE exams are offered in a computer-based format at the Regional Testing Center on the Silicon Valley Adult Education campus.
