Automotive Services

AVAILABLE TO SECOND YEAR STUDENTS: ADVANCED AUTOMOTIVE SERVICES

This NATEF/AYES accredited course offers entry-level employment skills for students completing one school year. The program consists of three phases, each taught by ASE certified technicians with many years of automotive repair and diagnostic experience. Classrooms and shops are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and training tools. Industry partners offer input regarding the training needs of today’s entry-level technicians. The program also focuses on career readiness skills that are necessary for the student’s professional development. Summer internships and job placement opportunities are available to top students. A second year of training is available and concentrates on live work and advanced training. SVCTE’s automotive training can lead to other opportunities such as service writing, parts counter person, porter, and parts driver.

About the Instructors

The Automotive Services program is taught by three automotive experts, Tom Gholamipour, Jimmy Walker, and Ed Van Hagen. Each instructor teaches a twelve-week portion of the program. Students then rotate to another instructor who specializes in another area of expertise. All Instructors are ASE Certified in the automotive industry. Combined, all three instructors have over 40 years of industry experience.
