JOINT POWER AGREEMENT

  • MetroED was created as a Joint Powers Agreement (JPA) by six school districts in Santa Clara County. We are governed by the six districts that comprise the joint powers; each of the six districts designates one of their elected board members to sit on the Metropolitan Education Districts Governing Board.

    The Agreement

    The parties to this Agreement entered into an agreement to establish the Central Santa Clara County Regional Occupational Agency in 1983 and renamed the Agency the Metropolitan Education District in 1997.  The parties desire to change and amend the agreement of 1983, and all of its subsequent amendments, to reflect its current programs and purposes.  Consequently, the parties agree that the agreement of 1983, as subsequently amended, be amended and superseded to read:
