Former 2022-2023 SVCTE Students Recognized as Completers During Mission College Nursing Assistant Ceremony

The high levels of achievement and learning happening at Silicon Valley Career Technical Education (SVCTE) is evident when those who have moved on from the program receive academic success in their post-secondary education.

On July 31, 14 students formerly attending SVCTE’s Medical Science/Health Careers and Medical Assisting programs in the 2022-2023 school year were among others recognized as completers in Mission College’s summer Nursing Assistant class during a pinning ceremony. SVCTE students included: 

  • Harika Allu, Medical Science/Health Careers, Wilcox High School, Santa Clara Unified School District

  • Gadwharrle Anin, Medical Assisting, Westmont High School, Campbell Union High School District

  • Leslie Arroyo Granados, Medical Assisting, Oak Grove High School, East Side Union High School District 

  • Elena Barrios, Medical Assisting, Independence High School, East Side Union High School District

  • Queen Brooks, Medical Assisting, Prospect High School, Campbell Union High School District

  • Jasmin Carrasco, Medical Assisting, Boynton High School, Campbell Union High School District

  • Alondra Castellano, Medical Science/Health Careers, Yerba Buena High School, East Side Union High School District

  • Jerysel Cornejo, Medical Assisting, Overfelt High School, East Side Union High School District

  • Zinnia Garcia, Medical Assisting, Mount Pleasant High School, East Side Union High School District

  • Harmanjot (Harman) Kaur, Medical Science/Health Careers, Willow Glen High School, San Jose Unified School District

  • Fiona K Printy, Medical Science/Health Careers, Leigh High School, Campbell Union High School District

  • Leticia Sandoval Rios, Medical Science/Health Careers, Lincoln High School, San Jose Unified School District

  • Stefani Vasquez, Medical Assisting, Santa Clara High School, Santa Clara Unified School District

Both Arroyo Granadas and Castellanos were honored as two of four student speakers at the event.

During the pinning ceremony, MetroED Superintendent Alyssa Lynch also shared a few inspiring words about the students’ completion of the program and their career trajectory that all began at SVCTE. 

“I just want to say congratulations and thank you for taking the opportunity to continue your education,” she said. “It’s such an important time right now and we have well trained, caring individuals going into this field.”
