Superintendent's Message

Hello Alyssa,

Happy New Year!

As a new year begins, we challenge ourselves to new opportunities, whether it's learning something new or conquering new goals. I look forward to our continued partnership, celebrating successes, and advancing efforts that help our students thrive.

While we left 2021 in the past, COVID-19 is still with us. The health and well-being of our students, staff, and community are top of mind. I encourage all community members to utilize the prevention measures, such as universal masking, testing, vaccinations, and booster shots to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Our students continue to shine and do great things, which we have highlighted in this newsletter, along with MetroED News and Highlights, Governing Board Updates, and Important Dates. Thank you for your ongoing support of CTE as we gear up to celebrate CTE Month!

Stay safe and well,

Alyssa Lynch

January is School Board Recognition Month

On January 19, the Governing Board approved Resolution #09-02-19-22 Metropolitan Education District celebrates School Board Recognition Month.

Metropolitan Education District (MetroED) is proud to join more than 1,000 local educational agencies in the state to recognize board members' contributions during School Board Recognition Month. In this time of unprecedented challenges in nearly every sector of life, board members have worked tirelessly to support student learning and mental wellness in our district. "Our board members are our Champions," stated Superintendent Lynch. "They love what we do for students, and we could not ask for a more supportive team than the board members we have at MetroED."

As the Interim President, I want to first recognize Jim Stoch, the former President, for his leadership over the past two years and thank him for his service.

Our key accomplishment this year was launching an adult scholarship program.

Supporting the Foundation helps to:

  • Secure funding for scholarships
  • Expand the Alumni Outreach Program
  • Build our volunteer network

CTE helps students enter the workforce for the first time or make a career move to thrive in the 21st century economy.
