About MetroED

MetroED has a long history of deep roots in San Jose. We operate more than 20 successful high school career technical education classes and a high-caliber adult education program. SVCTE began as San Jose Technical School from 1917 to 1958, and our SVAE program began in 1870 when it was called Night School.

We are the largest career-oriented education organization in Northern California for high school and adult students, but we are still a hidden gem in Silicon Valley.

COVID-19 challenged us in many ways, including putting a two-plus-year pause to on-site visits. Our goal for the new year is to more firmly establish MetroED as an everyday household name in the fabric of the Bay Area by amping up efforts to spotlight the wonderful work that is happening on our 26-acre state-of-the-art campus every single day.

To learn more about what you can expect to see on tour, watch this video. Thanks for taking the time to learn more about MetroED, and we hope to see you for a visit soon.
