AVAILABLE TO SECOND YEAR STUDENTS: ADVANCED FIRE TECHNOLOGY II
Students will be introduced to Fire Department and Emergency Services related fields and techniques used to perform the job. The class focuses on academic, technical skills, employability, and career readiness practices. Students will develop personal and professional skills in the classroom that will transfer to the workplace:

Phil Gonzalez, retired 32 year veteran of the San Jose Fire Department, has taught as a credentialed Fire Service Instructor for Cabrillo College, West Valley/Mission College, and the California State Fire Marshall’s Office programs. He is a Certified California State Fire Marshall’s Office Instructor
Oscar Tovar entered the Fire Service/First Responder field in 1990. He has worked with South County Fire, CAL Fire and in 1994 he achieved his dream of working with San Jose Fire. At San Jose Fire, Oscar has served as a firefighter, Fire Inspector, and was promoted to Fire Captain in 2003. Oscar is a full-time firefighter. He has over 4000 teaching hours in the fire service and medical fields.
