Students In Action
SVCTE Summer Exploration
Over the summer, approximately 160 students from 23 high schools and a private school soaked up an educational journey of growth, discovery, and an unstoppable ambition during the SVCTE Summer Exploration program (view photos). The four weeks of “career exploration” provided five general elective credits from courses that included Cybersecurity, Fashion Design and Textile Art, Fire Science, Medical Assisting, Medical Science/Health Careers, Mobile App Design and Coding, Pharmacy Technician, and Veterinary Science. Students rotated through weeklong CTE courses. Watch the video now.

SVCTE Dual Enrollment Students Successfully Complete Programs
Eighty-eight percent of SVCTE students dually enrolled in the Certified Nursing Assistant Program (CNA) at Mission College this summer completed the program and are now certified CNAs ready for work.
Over at Evergreen Valley College, 38% of SVCTE students, also dually enrolled in SVCTE's automotive services, auto repair, and metals courses, completed Automotive Technology 102 - Automotive Systems at the college. In both instances, successful completers received college credit.
Former SVCTE Students Graduate from Mission College Fire Academy

SVCTE Receives Commendation from San Jose City Council
On August 22, the City of San Jose's Council Meeting held a presentation of a commendation recognizing the partnerships developed with SVCTE to prepare Santa Clara County’s youth for the career pathways of tomorrow.
"We are a model of excellence at our center," she said. "We pride ourselves on what we do for this community. So thank you for your time and recognition."
Hanson in partnership with work2future's Youth and Training Project Manager Mirza Handzar created 26 paid student internships, resulting in students earning $168,000.

CSBA Advocates Tour SVCTE

Sara joins MetroED with a master's degree in Educational Administration. Most recently, she was an Assistant Principal of Equity and an Assistant Principal of Student Services.
Daniel was promoted from his role as a Maintenance Specialist. Daniel has been with MetroED for five years and has contributed greatly to the campus facilities.
