J. Manuel Herrera is a native of San Jose, an alumni of William C. Overfelt High School. He attended the University of Pacific and received his Masters Degree in Urban Studies from Occidental College. Mr. Herrera has been a program administrator for the National Conference for Community & Justice, a national human relations organization (now known regionally as the Silicon Valley Conference for Community & Justice).

Ms. Goytia was elected to the Campbell Union HSD Board in 2012. She taught in the CUHSD for 38 years. She holds a B.S. in biology and an M.S. in English and served for 13 years as a mentor teacher and intern coach. Linda was the district’s Teacher of the Year and the CA League of High Schools Region V Educator of the Year for 2001. She was also the recipient of five Dorothy Wright Awards for Excellence in Education from SJSU.

Since 1992, Jim Canova has significantly contributed to the Santa Clara Unified School District Governing Board, serving as President and Vice President. He's dedicated to improving academic standards for over 15,400 students and supports diverse education initiatives including literacy and Common Core Standards. His committee work includes legislative, advisory,and city liaison roles plus Bond Oversight and Superintendent Evaluation. For over 15 years, he's also advocated for CTE at MetroED.

Ms. Tseng has served as Co-President for the Saratoga High School PTSO, Redwood Middle School PTA, Argonaut Elementary School PTA, Saratoga Education Foundation, Music Boosters, Saratoga High School Foundation, and as a member of the Executive Board of Saratoga High School Sports Boosters. She has also served on the advisory board of the Saratoga Union School District and the LGSUHSD Superintendent’s Advisory Council.

Norwood brings more than 20 years of experience in technology and business, along with his experience as a parent, community volunteer, and executive running tutoring organizations. He is grounded in a call to positively impact the lives of the next generation.

Born in New York, Brian moved to Southern California with his mother and sister as a young child. Upon graduating from high school, he received a scholarship to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where he studied political science. After graduating from UCLA, Brian moved to Berkeley, CA and a few years later to San Jose, CA. He began his career with the Evergreen School District working as a teacher for 25 years. Retired as of 2020, he continues to serve public education.
