ADULT BASIC EDUCATION
Recognized by the California Department of Education as a Program of Excellence, our Adult Basic Education program offers adults a way to advance their reading, writing, and math skills to the high school level. If your goal is to proceed from this class to the high school forum class, then you can be working on elective and high school credits and apply them for an SVAE high school diploma.
You can also proceed to a GED/HiSET High School Equivalency preparation class. Students set their goals and the teacher prepares an individual learning plan for each student to support those goals. Computer-assisted learning, individual, small groups, and whole-class lessons are integrated into the curriculum as teachers engage with their students and facilitate successful student outcomes.
Classes are open entry. Enter at any time; subject to availability.
All students will take the CASAS Reading and Math assessment for placement before they are registered in a class.
